Photocopy of holograph manuscript of an undated narrative of Rufus Nelson Merriam's experiences in the US Civil War (probably written sometime after the war's end), where he served in Company "B" of the 4th Iowa Infantry Regiment. Photocopy of a holograph letter dated 1996 to Merriam's grandchildren--Nel, Jim and Jack [Cowles]-- from an unknown writer including a timeline of Merriam's service. A genealogical chart for Rufus Nelson Merriam compiled in 2003.
